NEWS UPDATE: CSP Kazeem Abonde: Killers of security officers will face justice – Sanwo-Olu

Lagos Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has condemned the murder of a Constabulary Master Superintendent, Kazeem Abonde.

Kazeem was killed on September 23 when he led a squad against okada riders operating in and around Ajao Estate.

On Tuesday, Sanwo-Olu famous with deep concern, the fatal attacks on law enforcement agents by hoodlums.

Sanwo-Olu said such actions are attempts to trample on law and enjoin by those who are desperate to turn the society upside downward.

“This will not be allowed to happen”, the Lagos helmsman vowed in a statement he personally signed.

The governor disclosed he had directed the Commissioner of Constabulary, Hakeem Odumosu to ensure that all those who participated in the savagery are brought to justice.

“This is to encourage our law enforcement agents that we will ever stand up by them as they carry out their duties and, at the same time, send a strong sign to criminals that whatsoever onslaught on our officers will not go unpunished.

“Such display of savagery as the one in which CSP Abonde died will not be allowed in our province, no matter the circumstances.

“The law is there for us all, should there be a demand to redress whatsoever perceived wrongdoing. Citizens who take the law into their have hands are promoters of jungle justice, which will not be allowed to take root in our dear Lagos.”

Sanwo-Olu commiserated with Abonde’s household and the police force on the loss of the officer “whose diligence and bravery have been applauded by colleagues and relations”.
