Some adhoc staff recruited by the Rivers Province regime to manage COVID-19 vaccines have lamented over the failure of the regime to pay them for over 2 months.
One of the affected staff who spoke on behalf of several others, said they were recruited by the Rivers province Primary Healthcare Direction Board.
The affected adhoc staff who spoke on the status of anonymity for fright of existence victimized, said for 2 months they have remained unpaid but have only be given 18 thousand naira as mobilization stipends.
She complained that the state of affairs has made life hard for them, adding that they have made several appeals to the direction of the Primary Healthcare Direction Board but all to no avail.
She said “We have not been paid and it’s getting to 80 days at present and we have not been paid.
“It has been horrible. We have just received logistic of N18, 000 since and then. We have been expecting money because we create utilisation of our little date to do the work.
“So we are pleading to the people in charge to do something in relation to it.”
Meanwhile, the Immunization officer at the Rivers province Primary Healthcare Direction Agency, Dr. Joseph Urang has dismissed claims that the adhoc staff were existence owed by the province regime.
Urang blamed the National Primary Healthcare Direction Agency for the delay in the payment of the adhoc staff.
