Justice Mohammed of the Sokoto State High Court, on Monday, allowed a last request relinquishing the amount of N1,362,675,353 to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The cash had been seized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
On July 2, 2021, the adjudicator conceded a between time request of relinquishment following an exparte application by the EFCC.
Mohammed coordinated that the decision be distributed in a public paper for any one with premium in the cash to show cause why it ought not be for all time gave over to the government.
At the present hearing, EFCC counsel, S. H. Sa’ad, said the commission went along, made the distribution, and needs the cash surrendered to FG.
Counsel to the respondents, Shamsu Dauda, didn’t go against the application.
After entries of the attorneys, Justice Mohammed requested the last forfeiture.
The EFCC in Sokoto had followed the assets, associated to be continues with illegal exercises, to the ledger of the primary respondent, Aishatu Bandado Magaji.
