The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN has suspended its Gombe State Caretaker Chairman, Rev. Sunday Congo.
Congo was suspended after he composed a salutary letter to the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, without the endorsement of the affiliation’s National Executive Committee.
CAN State Secretary in Gombe, Apostle John Adedigba, in a letter for every one of the individuals from the guardian board complimented Pantami on his new detailed “advancement to the position of a Professor of Cyber Security” by the Governing Council of Federal University of Technology, Owerri.
They expressed in the letter that they were “pleased” of Pantami as a “son”.
However, CAN in a letter by its General Secretary, Joseph Daramola, dated September 15 2021, named: ‘Letter of Suspension’, shipped off CAN overseer panel administrator in Gombe, expressed that the celebratory letter was given without the assent of the mother body.
Part of the letter read, “Following the new distributions of your complimentary message to the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami, CAN writes to advise you that your activity has produced a ton of worries among individuals from the Christian Association of Nigeria.
“This activity of yours in distributing in the interest of the affiliation is commensurate to one-sided choice of you and excessively eagerness on your part, which was managed without approval and clearance.”
CAN depicted the letter without its chief’s authorization as provocative, adding that he doesn’t address their position.
“It isn’t just provocative yet subverts the CAN NEC leader. It doesn’t in any capacity address their position.
“In perspective on this, you are thusly coordinated to give up your situation in Gombe CAN leader with quick impact and hand over the entirety of CAN’s property to your next in line in your bloc.”
CAN further prompted that the body be counseled in future and an endorsement got from the authority of CAN public level with the goal for everybody to talk with one voice.
