The Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) at the weekend, revealed the dates for both the FIFA World Cup, Qatar 2022 qualifiers and the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, Cote d’Ivoire 2023 qualifiers draws.
The AFCON, Cote d’Ivoire 2023 qualifiers draw, will be performed on 21 January, 2022, in Douala, Cameroon.
The initial round will be played by a knock-out system – – house and away components.
It will consist of the lower-ranked groups in accordance with the main FIFA rankings.
The groups that would certify from this round will reach the group phase made up of 48 groups.
The FIFA World Cup, Qatar 2022 African qualifiers draws will be performed on 22 January, 2022, in Douala, Cameroon.
The 10 certified groups will be divided into 2 levels based upon the main FIFA ranking, released last November.
The 5 highest-ranked groups in Africa will bet the 5 least ranked groups.
CAF divulged this in a declaration by means of their site on Saturday.
Level 1 makes up Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Nigeria, while level 2 makes up Egypt, Cameroon, Ghana, Mali and DR Congo.
