A bus motorist was validated dead in a mishap at Nkwelle Junction on Onitsha-Nteje Expressway in Anambra on Friday, the Federal Roadway Security Corps (FRSC) stated.
Mr Adeoye Irelewuyi, Leader of the FRSC in the state, validated the occurrence to the News Firm of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka.
He associated the mishap, which happened at about 7 am, to wrongful overtaking.
” The deadly crash included an industrial Mack tanker with registration number: ENU224YY and a personal Toyota Hiace bus with registration number: GWA25TM.
” According to an eyewitness account, the bus motorist surpassed wrongfully without understanding there was a broken-down pick-up automobile ahead. While attempting to evade the pick-up, he rammed into the tanker and crashed.
” The crash included 3 male grownups and the FRSC rescue group from Nteje System Command hurried the victims to Chira Healthcare facility, Awkuzu where the bus motorist was validated dead.
” His body has actually been transferred at knowledge mortuary, Awkuzu,” he stated.
The Sector Leader stated that FRSC authorities were on the ground to handle the traffic and make sure the blockage brought on by the crash was cleared.
While sympathising with the household of the dead, he advised drivers to avoid wrongful overtaking and be alert while driving.
