NEWS UPDATE: Benue 2023: Akase vows to uphold enforcement of open grazing prohibition law

A leading governorship aspirant in Benue Province, Mr. Terver Akase, on Dominicus pledged to uphold the enforcement of the Open Grazing and Ranches Establishment Law which was enacted in 2017 by the nowadays administration.

Akase, the former Primary Press Secretarial assistant to Governor Samuel Ortom, spoke Dominicus in Naka, Gwer W Local Authorities Area of the province during the decamping ceremony organised to get new entrants and defectors from other political parties into the Peoples Democratic Political party, PDP.

Akase commended Governor Ortom for his courageous leadership in protecting Benue’s territory from existence overtaken by marauding herdsmen who have killed thousands of indigenes.

According to him, he will sustain and reinforce Governor Ortom’s approach to tackling security challenges in the province.

Akase, who said that the province must be safe for evolution to thrive, famous that the anti-open grazing law remains the best way to halt the incessant attacks on Benue communities by armed herdsmen.

Governor Ortom, his married woman, Dr Eunice Ortom; Province Chairman of PDP, Primary John Ngbede; Province Assembly members, as good as political top political actors in the province, were also at Naka to witness to defection ceremony.
