Bandits laid an ambush on the ever-busy Abuja-Kaduna route on Lord’s Day, abducting an unknown number of travellers.
Those who escaped said the gunmen blocked the route at Katari village at in relation to 2 pm, operating for to a greater extent than an hr.
One of them told PRNigeria that they had to turn dorsum due to the repeated sounds of gunshots.
The citizen recalled that drivers had to commons some kilometres absent from the scene.
They resumed their journeying after vehicular motion resumed on the other side of the highway.
“Many travellers must have been kidnapped or escaped into the bush.
“We saw at to the lowest degree 15 cars parked and empty when we passed the scene of the onset,” he disclosed.

Katari has witnessed several attacks and kidnapping incidents in recent months.
In September, Emir Hassan Atto of Bungudu in Zamfara was taken absent; a police force officer attached to him was killed.
The monarch, a former Secretarial assistant to Zamfara Regime, was freed after one month in captivity.
