NEWS UPDATE: Bandits attack: Nigeria receives first batch of Super Tucano

Nigeria on Thursday got the main cluster of A-29 Super Tucano aircraft.

The airplane showed up in Kano, on Thursday 22 July 2021.

Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information affirmed the appearance of the warrior airplane in a statement.

“On hand to get the Tucano airplane were the Hon. Pastor of Defense, Major General Bashir Magashi (Rtd), Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao”, he said.

The furnished turboprops will lead strikes against Boko Haram, Islamic State West Africa Province and crooks in North-East and North-West regions.

Nigeria paid $462million for twelve Tucanos and different weapons in 2018.

This installment covered Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) frameworks for six of them.

The airplane have Paveway II directed bombs, laser-directed rockets, 12.7 mm ammo, unguided bombs and infrared sensors.
