President Muhammadu Buhari has warned media houses in Nigeria to halt reporting irresponsible remarks.
According to the President, the seeds of violence were beingness planted in the heads of Nigerians.
Buhari warned that reckless utterances of a few have led to losses of many harmless lives and devastation of properties.
In his Independence Daytime speech monitored by DAILY POST, Buhari said “such unfiltered and unsubstantiated lies and detest speeches by a few evil persons must be stopped. Our media houses and commentators must displace absent from just reporting irresponsible remarks to investigating the truth behind all statements and presenting the facts to readers.
“We must all come up out and speak against the lies beingness peddled.”
The President farther commended leaders who have promoted peaceful coexistence in the land, adding that “Nigeria is for all of us.”
“Nigeria’s unity is not negotiable. And its final success can only be achieved whether we all come up together with a common goal of having peace and prosperity for our land,” he said.
