NEWS UPDATE: Appeal committee, APC leaders endorse Oyo congress [PHOTOS]

The All Progressives Congress (APC), province congress appeal commission in Oyo Province and some zonal leaders of the political party have ratified the outcome of the latterly held province congress of the political party.

They endorsed the outcome of the province congress during a coming together held at the residence of a former Governor of the province, Master Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala.

Nowadays at the coming together held on Fri included Chairman of the appeal commission, Master Samuel Ogbuku, chairman of the province congress commission, Alhaji Gambo Lawan and Alao-Akala.

Others are some of the zonal leaders from the 5 geopolitical zones of the province, amongst whom are former Deputy Governor, Master Iyiola Oladokun, Hon. Asimiyu Alarape, Hon. Kazeem Tunde, Hon. Jacob Bamgboye, Hon. Bimbo Oladeji, Master Lowo Obisesan, Master Wale Ohu, Alhaji Kamoru Ajisafe, Alhaji M.K.O. Laoye, Mojisola Tegbe and Mufu Adisa, amongst others.

DAILY POST recalls that political party had on Saturday Oct 30 held its state congress.

It was gathered that some members of the political party who were not happy with the outcome of the congress had approached the leadership of the political party to cancel the congress. The aggrieved members called on the political party to conduct some other congress in the province.

But, the Chairman of the appeal commission and the zonal leaders have ratified the outcome of the congress.

The ratification followed a movement for the endorsement of the outcome of the congress moved by the Minority leader of the province House of Assembly, Hon. Asimiyu Alarape.

Alarape, piece moving the movement for the endorsement of the outcome of the congress held in conclusion week said, “The leaders have resolved that there is no listing to compare with listing of winners of the political party’s Province Congress held on Oct 30th, 2021. So, I displace a movement for adoption of new political party province executives held on Oct 30th 2021 at Liberty Stadium Ibadan.”

The movement for the endorsement of the province congress was seconded by Master Samuel Adekola.

Chairman of the appeal commission who supervised the coming together, maintained that there is no demand to conduct some other congress because the leaders had endorsed the outcome of the congress held in conclusion month.

He maintained that the congress held on Saturday, 30 Oct 2021 stands.

Ogbuku, who addressed journalists after the coming together, nevertheless nonetheless said that anyone who has opposite views against the congress should attain out to him.

He explained that the coming together he had with the political party leaders has affirmed the resultant of the congress, hence there is no demand for some other congress in the province.

“I have been directed from the national secretariat of the political party. At the national secretariat of the political party, there was a coming together, it was resolved that Master Adebayo Alao-Akala, former Governor of Oyo, as the leader of the political party should telephone his people to resolve all the issues that are outstanding.

“And on the strength of that, I came into Ibadan to see the leader. Hither we are for the coming together to see the stakeholders hither nowadays. I believed that this is the coming together, because I cannot percentage myself. We have really supervised the coming together. I think we have not had whatsoever dissecting voices. What we got was the resolution.

“And the movement was moved by the former Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Asimiyu Alarape, who is the nowadays minority leader, said that the listing of the executive elected at the province congress held on 31st Oct, should be the listing of the APC province executive and it was supported by Master S.A. Adekola. And whatever we have seen hither, it is our responsibleness to take what we have seen hither dorsum to Abuja”.
