The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has appealed to the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offenses Commission (ICPC), requesting it to test Professor AbdulAkeem Agboola from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), who was suspended for supposed age falsification.
Agboola was said to have praised his 60th birthday celebration at a date his introduction to the world authentication with the college showed he was 58.
DAILY POST had before detailed that the Academic Staff Establishment Unit of FUNAAB had examined Agboola and indicted him of age falsification and disparities in the names on his endorsements, the explanation over which the college representative, Kola Adepoju, said he was suspended.
In a letter dated September 13, 2021 and addressed to the ICPC Chairman, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye, in Abuja, the understudies said they “think that its convenient to report the gross degenerate acts of Prof. AbdulAkeem Agboola, of Mathematics division in the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta” to the commission.
They expressed that “recently, Prof. AbdulAkeem Agboola, a Professor of Mathematics from Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun State, was prosecuted in age distortion, result control and other unbelievable diabolism by Staff Establishment Unit of the institution.
“According to archives submitted to the Academic Staff Establishment Unit, Prof. AbdulAkeem Agboola who is, currentiy on suspension has misrepresented his age while additionally giving testaments various names to the institution.”
According to the appeal endorsed by Ogun NANS Chairman, Damilola Simeon, and the Chairman of the National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS), Gbemileke Ogunronbi, the understudies guaranteed that plans were in progress to acquit Agboola and clear him of all allegations.
