Abia Province Regime has expressed sadness over written report of an onslaught on commuters by hoodlums operating along Ihube, Okigwe LGA of Imo Province.
It was gathered that some students of Marist Comprehensive Academy, Uturu, were attacked by hoodlums piece returning from a devout programme on Saturday in Imo Province.
A statement by the province authorities also confirmed the unlucky loss of one Master copy Ede Donald and said that 3 students sustained injuries during the onslaught.
The province Commissioner for Information, Abia Province, John Okiyi Kalu piece reacting to the incident stated that Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has directed the province Commissioner of Police force, Mrs Janet Agbede, to liaise with her counterpart in Imo Province to swiftly arrest the hoodlums and convey them to justice.
Kalu also said the 3 students who sustained injuries from the onslaught have been treated and discharged piece the parents of Master copy Ede Donald have been contacted.
“Patch we commiserate with parents of the deceased, students, staff and direction of Marist Comprehensive Academy, Uturu, over this unlucky incident in our neighboring province, we condemn in totality the effort by agents of opposition political actors in our province whose stock in merchandise is spreading simulated tidings to decrease the province.”
Written report had claimed that gunmen reportedly kidnapped some students of the Abia Province Academy, Uturu (ABSU)
But Kalu said the circulating written report sponsored by unconscionable individuals is not only untrue but also wicked.
According to him, the written report is a creation of the evil minds of those who are ready to do anything in pursuit of their selfish objectives against the overall interests of the Province.
“The direction of Abia Province Academy, including the Vice Chancellor, Prof Maxwell Ogbulu, has confirmed that no student of the institution was abducted yesterday as against simulated reports patently sponsored by these elements.
“We shall nevertheless nonetheless go on to update Abians on issues affecting the Province and her people with sincerity of purpose.”
