NEWS UPDATE: AAUA lecturer kidnapped in Ondo, abductors demand N10m ransom

Mayowa Adinlewa, a lecturer of Adekunle Ajasin Academy, Akungba-Akoko, AAUA, Ondo Province has been kidnapped.

Adinlewa was kidnapped over the weekend along the sorry Akure-Ikere-Ekiti highway patch on his way from Akungba to see his household at Ikere in Ekiti Province.

The gunmen were said to have struck on a naughty portion of the route when waylaid and whisked him absent to an unknown destination.

The kidnappers were said to have contacted the victim’s married woman on Sun with the lecturer who was allowed to speak with his married woman heard on the phone that he was within the bush with his captives and that they had trekked for hours without eating and drinking.

With the married woman asking for the location, the lecturer stated that his legs were already burnt due to the heat from the long walk and that his phone would presently be taken from him.

Meanwhile, the elderberry blood brother of the victim, Toyin confirmed that his blood brother was kidnapped and that N10 million has been demanded as ransom by the kidnappers

Confirming the incident, the Law Public Relations Officer in Ondo Province, Funmilayo Odunlami stated that investigation had begun with the anti-kidnapping unit already deployed.

“Initially, we thought it was a instance of abandoned vehicle. It was later that the household contacted the law that their son had been kidnapped. The incident happened betwixt the boundary of Ondo and Ekiti States.

“Our anti-kidnapping unit has swung into activeness towards rescuing the victim. They are already combing the bush and the axis where it happened.

“I’m not aware whether contact has been made with the household. I don’t know anything in relation to the demand for ransom.”
