The Cops Command in Sokoto State, on Monday, stated it jailed no less than 37 suspects over supposed banditry in some parts of the state.
Dealing with an interview in Sokoto on Monday, the Deputy Inspector General of Cops (DIG), Operations, Ahmed Zaki, stated the arrests were made in between Jan. 20 and Jan. 29.
” In Between Jan. 20 to Jan. 29, the Operation Sahara Storm of the Nigeria Cops determined and robbed the outlaws’ camps in Illela, Rabah, Isa and Goronyo City Government Locations of Sokoto State.
” Throughout the operations, the authorities jailed no less than 37 suspects at various places and numerous exhibitions were recuperated.
” All the suspects were connected to the infamous gang leader, Turji, and they have all admitted to their complicity in the criminal offense of banditry.
” Nevertheless, examination into their cases is still in development and the suspects will be charge to court as quickly as the examination is finished,” he stated.
The DIG called a few of the suspects as Musa Kamarawa, Abubakar Hashimu, Bammi Kiruwa, Zayyanu Abdullahi, Hardo Yunusa and Samuel Chinedu, to name a few.
