A previous Governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi has said the South East should persuade different areas that it is prepared to deliver the following leader of Nigeria in 2023.
Obi expressed this while talking with Arise TV on Monday.
The 17 Governors in the South West, South and South East have effectively met twice as of late, to confirm their interest that the South produce President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor.
However, the position has not been miniature drafted to any of the three zones.
Obi feels the South East should deliver a “persuading contention” to the remainder of Nigeria on why the locale should take the slot.
According to him, the district should likewise accept the legislative issues of “commitment and conference, and not confrontation”.
Obi, who was bad habit official competitor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019, said: “We need to persuade the others why it ought to be us. Also, you realize we have a persuading contention for that. Be that as it may, it should be persuading. We won’t hold a weapon in their mind and say you should come here.”
“Politics is about commitment and counsel, and not conflict. You counsel and examine with others and say, ‘this is the way we need to do it for us to have serene coexistence’.
“The choice will be done inside the gathering. It’s anything but an issue of my view or anyone’s view, it’s that of the gathering. Regardless of whether we say it should go toward the South and the gathering zones it toward the north, there’s nothing that can be done.”
