NEWS DAILY: Buhari’s former son-in-law, Kumo breaks silence on being wanted for $65m fraud


Mr. Gimba Kumo, a previous child in-law to President Muhammadu Buhari, has guaranteed he was never welcomed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offenses Commission (ICPC) for the alleged misappropriation of $65m, before he was pronounced wanted.

Kumo is asserted to have stolen the cash while he was Managing Director of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria.

However, in a letter routed to the Chairman of the ICPC, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye, which is dated May 18, 2021, Kumo depicted the improvement as lamentable, adding that no endeavor was made at welcoming him before he was announced wanted.

The letter endorsed by his attorney, Chief O.U Orji, and Uwem Umoawan, read to a limited extent, “We were dependably educated by our customer that he was never presented with any authority greeting in accordance with Section 29, 30, 31, and 32 of the ICPC Act, 2000.

“Since he left the FMBN, his private office and street numbers are notable to general society as both the DSS and the EFCC have additionally affected help/greeting to him by and by which he regarded without a second thought on similar issues as he doesn’t have anything to hide.”
