Job Description RCL FOODS is seeking a National Account Manager to bring together our Bread, Buns & Rolls business unit. The role will be based in Pretoria and will study into the Sales Executive. RCL Foods entrusts the National Account Manager to: Develop and maintain the Baking business with a specific wholesale client or grouping of customers according to the company and channel strategy. Correspond the customers’ best interests within the Baking environs so that customers’ needs are ever convinced. Develop and care relationships with big national accounts and to set the accounts’ overall strategic direction. Develop and guide the implementation of assigned accounts specific business plans; attain account profitability and sales targets; serve as the primary account contact; and provide account leadership.
Minimum Requirements Grade in Direction, Business Administration and/or Marketing. Valid Code EB drivers’ licence. 5 to 8 years’ experience in a marketing and sales function that includes managing complex and/or important client relationships and key accounts.
Duties & Responsibilities Account Direction: Develop account strategies in accordance with the overall channel strategy. Conduct regular reviews of business performance and promotion strategies. Care and develop strong daytime to daytime relationships with the national account representatives. Collaborate internally with cross-functional groups to develop and execute sales initiatives. Develop and maintain production knowledge of the wholesale sector and Baking products in specific. Develop and nowadays fact-based sales proposals to customers. Seek out and pursue line extensions, new channels and new business. Forecast demand and feed that into the S&OP physical process. Liaise with Marketing and monitor marketplace trends, competitive activities and new products. Written report coming together results and follow upward with all cross-functional groups to capitalise on sales opportunities. Facilitate NPD processes to run across client requirements. Monitor lineament of products and review complaints, returns and resolve all issues. Recruit, negotiate with and sign-on new national accounts. Be an internal account champion, assuring clear and regular communication to key company managers. Pursue opportunities unique to each assigned account in terms of marketing, merchandising and operations. Pricing and Negotiation: Develop proposals, negotiate terms and conditions and implement contractual agreements with assigned national accounts (with accountability for delivering strong financial results). Continuously review and monitor pricing to ensure Baking remains competitive with the highest profitability possible. Ensure the relevant Baking client offerings/handbasket is ranged for the respective national accounts. Ensure the pricing across the handbasket is in line with relevant mandates as published. Offering alternative solutions to customers in the case of the products performing poorly (i.e. cross-merchandising strategically and facilitating farther promotions to marketplace stock). Negotiate merchandise margins advising customers regarding the best damage in comparing with competitors, ultimately ensuring the production is successful. Promotion and Communication: Develop, nowadays and execute 12-month promotion calendars. Develop optimal promotional plans and care promotional investments. Ensure that the promotional grid is updated and accurate at all times. Determine the feasibility of promotions and quantify success. Advise Marketing on in-store demonstration work and indicate the success rate of promotions. Critically evaluate the feasibility of dot of sale proposals. Client Human relationship Direction: Develop a deep understanding of client needs and their operations and strategic objectives. Develop the client business program for his/her respective categories. Deliver the agreed program and follow-up/coordinate the achievement of targets set in the Program. Monitor client performance by tracking client contribution and marketplace portion for major categories. Human action as an active ambassador of Baking at the client and of the client at Baking. Furnish Chain and Distribution Direction: Develop and maintain strong executive relationships with assigned distributors. Care stock availability issues with manufacturing plant/Vector depots. Oversee the enjoin taking physical process and follow upward with furnish chain direction when required. Coordinate account and marketplace reviews of key metrics and best practices/key learning for assigned distribution. Communicate with Vector in-store staff and branches throughout the country. Ensure that VSS is made aware of promotions and the details to facilitate seamless communication channels. Account Financial Direction: Drive the achievement of the national account sales budgets in terms of volume. Forecast, budget and runway account revenues and cost. Reach monthly, quarterly and yearly sales margins and goals. Monitor and optimise merchandise pass investment and finish ROI analysis. Reporting: Provide monthly feedback to the Channel Manager indicating the tracking on volume versus budget. Place improvements and innovations and include them in the reporting and feedback physical process.
