Most auto-renewals are so annoying, especially when they debit your credit without your permission.
The good news is that all Nigerian mobile networks, including MTN, GLO Airtel, and 9 Mobile, allow data plans to be cancelled.
1. How to Stop MTN Auto-Renewal
You must use the precise deactivation code of your active data plan to cancel Autorenewal on MTN.
To cancel MTN data autorenew, text the deactivation code to 131.
You can only do this if you are aware of your current data plan.
To check your current plan, dial *123*5*1# and press 2.
For example, let’s say you’re on a 1000 monthly plan for 1.5g and your code is 161.
Send the text “NO” 161 to “131” and you’re set to go.
2. How to Cancel Airtel Auto-Renewal
Cancelling Auto-Renewal Send “STOP” to 141 on Airtel.
Then wait for confirmation of auto-renewal cancellation.
3. How to Stop Glo’s Auto-Renewal
Please text CANCEL to 127.
Glo will send you a message confirming that the operation was completed successfully.
If the code does not work, you can contact Glo customer service at 121.
4. How To Cancel 9mobile/Etisalat Auto-Renewal
On 9mobile, you may opt out of auto-renewal by following these steps:
To deactivate this function, dial *229*0#.
Alternatively, text STOP to 229 to obtain a confirmation message from 9mobile.
