Court remands 20-year-old for illegal possession of firearm



An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court docket on Friday remanded a 20-year-old man, Solomon Johnson, on the Kirikiri custodial facility for alleged unlawful possession of a firearm.

The Justice of the Peace, Mrs M. Ayinde, who didn’t take Johnson’s plea, ordered that the case file ought to be duplicated and despatched to the state Director of Public Prosecutions for recommendation.

Ayinde adjourned the case till Could 23 for point out.

The defendant, who resides at 17, Okosun St., Ajangbadi, Ojo, Lagos State, is going through a two-count cost of conspiracy and illegal possession of a firearm.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Segun Oke, advised the courtroom that the defendant dedicated the offences on April 13 at Ajegunle, Lagos State.

He mentioned that the defendant couldn’t give any passable clarification as to how he bought them.
