The numbers of job scam have increase over times in the country due to the increase in internet frauds and networking platforms that have use the tool to find a subordinate to their business which is a remedy for them to grow. It is important to be careful while looking for a job.
However, DO NOT GET ME WRONG, in as much that there are many legitimate companies and organisations looking to hire you likewise the existences of fake ones. That are out to dupe you of your money and valuables.
After rigorous study and some personal experiences i point out 7 practical ways to detect a job scams:
1. CODES AND UNSPECIFIED BUSINESS NAME AND ADDRESS ON JOB ADS AND INTERVIEW INVITATIONS
: Codes or symbols that you do not understand on a job ads or invitation probably can be from job scammers because most a times is a mean of identity in which their members invite you to be scam or join a network. You need to be careful and be sensitive to identify that by doing a rigorous research about the organisation or the company before applying or while on process of recruitment.
2. GRAMMATICAL OR SPELLING ERRORS ON JOB ADS AND EMAILS
You can easily identity job scams from grammatical errors of ads and use of email like yahoo, gmail, and hotmails. Be sensitive to read through a job description before applying so that you would not be scam.
3. PROTECT YOUR IMPORTANT AND VITAL INFORMATION
Beware of companies asking for copies of important document like National Health Insurance Scheme, International Passport, ATM details or anything with your social security number that is before you met them. Be careful because online forms is a perfect place for identity stealing and impersonating.
4. BE CAREFUL AND BEWARE OF THE EMAIL OFFERING YOU A JOB
If you did not apply for a job and a job is being offered, it is probably a job scam. If a random email appear in your inbox offering you a job be sure to check it out, follow the guidelines from step one and two is likely a scam.
5. DO NOT HAND OVER MONEY, NO MATTER WHAT
No legitimate company or organisation is going to ask for money in other to hire you. Their are different ways scammers ask for money. It can be during interview process to asking for ATM cards number or PIN, Motivation, processing Fee and a lot of others.

6. SCATTERED POSITIONS
You may have seen a job advert in the internet or pages of newspaper containing several position cutting across many discipline this is likely a scam. The advert is aimed at getting as many candidate as they can defraud.
7. BEWARE OF CAPTIVATING OFFERS
Some offers may seem legitimate and even have professional looking websites, do not get me wrong but be careful of the mouth sweetening/watering ones with wonderful remuneration, packages even easy recruitment process that have this caption of too good to be true, such kind of job are scam. Remember the old adage, it seem too good to be true.
